Fullness doesn’t mean fruitfulness…
March is a transition month. Winter starts to loosen its grip. Spring energy starts to rise. Storms roll through. Fields get turned.
In Louisiana, nobody plants seed in brush. You clear the field first.
Spiritually, most of us try to grow on top of clutter. We want stronger faith, better discipline, healthier homes — but we’re trying to build fruit in crowded soil.
Nothing is “wrong.”
You’re not rebelling.
You’re not drifting.
You’re just overgrown.
This month, Faith Forward is about one thing: clearing what’s choking growth so something stronger can grow.
Because growth doesn’t start with doing more. It starts with removing what doesn’t belong.
You Can’t Grow What You Won’t Clear
Most people want growth.
Stronger faith.
Stronger leadership.
Stronger marriages.
Stronger discipline.
But growth doesn’t begin with adding habits. It begins with removing interference.
We live in a culture that praises fullness.
Full schedules.
Full calendars.
Full inboxes.
Full lives.
But fullness is not fruitfulness.
Overgrowth doesn’t look sinful.
It looks responsible.
It looks busy.
It looks productive.
Your life can look full and still be unfruitful.
The danger is not that you’re doing bad things. The danger is that good things are crowding out the best things.
Jesus said God prunes what bears fruit so it can bear more fruit. That means even healthy branches get cut.
Pruning isn’t punishment. It’s preparation.
God isn’t trying to shrink your life.
He’s trying to strengthen what actually grows.
This is why so many men feel stuck.
You’re praying for growth but resisting pruning.
You’re asking God to bless but holding onto clutter.
You want fruit without removing what blocks the light.
Here’s the quiet truth most people don’t hear: Overgrowth feels productive —but it prevents depth.
When your attention is fragmented, your faith becomes thin.
When your schedule is crowded, your soul gets noisy.
When your life is cluttered, your growth slows.
Not because you don’t love God. But because there’s no room to grow.
Three Signs Your Field Is Overgrown:
You’re busy but not effective.
You’re doing a lot — but not growing much. You feel reactive instead of intentional.
Life controls you more than you lead it.You’re spiritually dry but constantly active.
You’re moving — but not deepening.
If you see yourself here, don’t spiral. Don’t self-accuse. Don’t overcorrect.
Just start with one honest question:“Lord, what in my life is crowding out growth?”
Clearing is not about guilt. It’s about making room.
And God grows best in cleared ground.
TOOL OF THE WEEK — “The Field Check”
Try this once this week:
Set aside 10 quiet minutes.
No phone.
No noise.
Ask these three questions:
What drains me but doesn’t grow me?
What takes time but produces no fruit?
What would I need to remove to create margin?
End with this prayer: “God, show me what needs to be cleared so something stronger can grow. Give me courage to remove what no longer serves Your purpose in me.
Amen.”
Small clearing creates room for real growth.
This week you’ll receive: “The Field Audit.”
A focused guide to help you:
Identify what’s choking your growth
Name what needs to be removed
Clear space in your habits, schedule, and inner life
Prepare your life for fruitfulness
If February was about presence, this guide helps you create space for growth.
Hit reply and tell me: What’s one thing you sense God might be asking you to clear right now?
I read every response. I pray for you.
One Step at a Time.
