What Lies Have You Been Believing About Yourself?

Got 3 Minutes? Let's get free...

The black dog…

The Loudest Voice Isn’t Always the Truest One

Let’s be honest—most of us don’t need someone else to tear us down.
We’ve got our own inner critic for that.
You know the voice:

  • “You’re not enough.”

  • “You always mess this up.”

  • “They’re better off without you.”

  • “You’ll never change.”

The scary thing? We start to believe it.
And what you believe in your mind will eventually bleed into how you live, lead, love, and relate.

But here’s the good news: God’s voice is stronger.
And His truth is steadier than the storm in your head.

Take Every Thought Captive

2 Corinthians 10:5 says:

“We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

2 Corinthians 10:5

That’s not a cute slogan—it’s a spiritual strategy.
God has given you the authority to filter what enters your mind.
You don’t have to agree with every thought that shows up.
You don’t have to believe the lies just because they’re loud.

Recognizing the Inner Lies

These thoughts often hide in plain sight:

  • "I’m a failure" (shame)

  • "I can’t trust anyone" (fear)

  • "No one cares" (woundedness)

  • "If I rest, I’m lazy" (performance pressure)

Here’s the truth:
Your thoughts are not the truth—unless they’re aligned with God’s Word.
What goes unchecked becomes what goes unchallenged.

Ask Yourself:

  • What lie has been looping in my mind lately?

  • Where did it come from—an old wound, a recent failure, a cultural script?

  • What does God say that directly contradicts that lie?

Call to Action:

  • Write down one recurring negative thought.

  • Now write God’s truth to replace it. (Use Scripture!)
