Have We Become Too Numb to Care?
Got 3 minutes? Let’s talk about fighting apathy with action.

Too distracted to see…
ME > OTHERS?
Our culture tells us to put ourselves first—self-care, self-promotion, self-fulfillment. While taking care of yourself is important, too much focus on “me” can make us blind to the needs around us. When we’re always rushing, distracted, or drained, we don’t stop long enough to see people. But Jesus did. He noticed the forgotten, the hurting, the overlooked. He didn’t just feel compassion—He acted on it.
Fighting Apathy
This week, we’re talking about Fighting Apathy with Action. The world says, “Look out for yourself.” Faith says, “Look beyond yourself.” Philippians 2:4 reminds us: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Living this way doesn’t just bless others—it changes us. When we step outside of our comfort zone to serve, our hearts grow softer, our faith deepens, and our perspective shifts.
See the Need, Meet the Need
Apathy fades when action begins. Let’s be people who don’t just see the need—but meet it.
Most of us don’t ignore others on purpose—we’re just too busy to notice. What if we slowed down and paid attention? Compassion starts with awareness. Who is struggling around you? Who needs encouragement? What need can you meet today?
✅ Set aside phone time when you’re with others—be present.
✅ Ask someone how they’re really doing—and listen.
✅ Find one way to serve a need you’ve overlooked.
Ask Yourself:
When was the last time I intentionally stopped to notice someone else's need?
In what ways has busyness or distraction kept me from serving others?
How can I shift my focus from self-interest to making a real impact in someone’s life this week?
Call to Action:
Pause & Notice – Take five minutes today to slow down and truly see the people around you. Who might need encouragement, help, or simply a listening ear?
Interrupt the Routine – Choose one small way to break out of self-focus this week—buy a meal for someone in need, check in on a struggling friend, or volunteer a little of your time.
