Ready to Make This Year Different?

New Year, New Depths

Looking back to go forward…

As we launch into a new year, let’s not just set resolutions; let’s set intentions that resonate with who we’re becoming in Christ. Life can feel like a whirlwind, especially with the constant pace of social media, school, work, and relationships. But what if this year we focused on a different kind of growth—the kind that’s rooted in our faith, anchored in truth, and aimed at making a real difference?

Start With Purpose, Not Pressure

Forget the pressure to be perfect right out of the gate. Growth is a journey, not a destination. In Philippians 3:13-14, Paul reminds us to focus on what’s ahead, pressing on with purpose. That doesn’t mean ignoring the past but allowing God to use it as fuel for transformation. Let’s make this year about deepening our roots, not just adding more on the surface.

Build Rhythms That Last

Instead of aiming for lofty goals that often fade, what rhythms can we establish that keep us connected to God? Maybe it’s a daily pause to pray, a weekly time to reflect, or finding small ways to show kindness each day. These are the practices that lead to lasting change.

Ask Yourself:

  • What one area of my life do I feel God prompting me to grow in this year?

  • Who in my life can encourage me on this journey of faith and growth?

  • How can I bring my goals to God in prayer, inviting Him into my plans?

Call to Action:

  • Set a Weekly "Faith Check-In": Choose one day each week to pause, reflect, and pray. Use this time to journal about where you’ve seen God at work, any challenges you’re facing, and ways you want to grow. This check-in can help you stay aligned with your goals and keep your faith grounded, even in busy times.

  • Find an Accountability Partner: Growth is easier when you’re not doing it alone. Reach out to a friend, mentor, or small group member who’s also focused on strengthening their faith. Share your goals and plan to meet up or check in weekly. This connection can keep you motivated and provide you with mutual encouragement and prayer.
