Drowning in Bad News? Here’s How to Hold on to Hope.
Got 3 minutes? This could change how you see the world today.

Drowning in bad news…
Everywhere we look, the world seems to be unraveling—conflict, division, economic uncertainty, and moral confusion. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by fear and frustration. But as followers of Jesus, we are not called to live in reaction to the chaos around us. We are called to live in response to the resurrection.
"In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Notice He didn’t say, "You might have trouble," but "You will." The brokenness of this world is not surprising—but neither is Jesus’ victory over it. Our hope isn’t in a perfect culture; our hope is in a resurrected King.
How to Live with Hope in a Fear-Driven World
1. Reject the Fear-Driven Narrative
The world profits from fear. Media, politics, and even social conversations often fuel panic. But as believers, we must filter what we consume through faith, not fear. Am I feeding my mind more with bad news or with God’s promises?
2. Anchor Yourself in Truth
Cultural trends shift, but God’s Word remains unshaken. When you feel overwhelmed, refocus on what is eternal: Jesus reigns. His promises stand. The Gospel is still good news. Memorize John 16:33 and declare it when fear creeps in.
3. Be a Light in the Darkness
Fear makes people retreat—hope makes people rise. When the world is anxious, we can be voices of peace, reason, and love. How can I bring hope into my conversations today?
Ask Yourself:
What voices or influences in my life are feeding fear rather than faith? How can I shift my focus to God's promises instead?
When I face uncertainty, do I react with anxiety or anchor myself in the truth that Jesus has already overcome the world?
How can I be a source of hope and peace in my conversations this week, instead of contributing to fear and division?
Call to Action:
Take a moment today to pray and surrender any fears or anxieties to God. Ask Him to fill you with His peace and remind you of His victory.
